Employee Motivation components

Attracting New Employees

The chart below details the breakdown of each component and the reason for its inclusion.

Employee Motivation Component Component Breakdown Reason for its Inclusion
ATTRACTING NEW EMPLOYEES Old methods don't work Traditional methods for finding and hiring new staff results in a mindless exercise that is not only time consuming, not only demeaning to both the employer and the employer, but it doesn't work. 47% of new hires leave their jobs after 12 to 18 months! Over 50% of employees are unhappy in their current jobs! Something new has to be done. One approach to 'new' is as follows below.
Advertising Create ads that address the character (PAVF) you want and eliminate those personal characteristics you do not want. Be willing to state in the ad what personal characteristics you need and what you do not need (in an inoffensive way), all the while addressing the necessary skills. Avoid the mindless scanning of resumes. Eliminate prospects through careful specifications for the right needs in character and skills.
Interviewing Interview those who have already passed demanding criteria established by you without 'cute' tricks, but by methods that focus on the results you expect from any performing employee. Check out their PAVF characteristics at www.respectrevolution.com.
Assessing Assess by testing, not by interviewing. Create a means to capture the essence of what you expect from people and then test the short list of candidates for those expectations. Only then should you interview.
Hiring In the hiring letter, state what you expect from the new employee over the next 6 months with clear deliverables from them and what you will deliver to them.
